What’s a Budget?
The Village Budget is the estimate of anticipated expenses (appropriations) and revenues for the Fiscal Year.
The Budget includes separate funds for General, Water, Sewer, Community Development and the Debt Schedule.
General Fund – covers the Village’s day-to-day operations. This fund is supported through your taxes.
Water & Sewer – covers the costs to provide clean water to your property, and to treat wastewater. These funds are supported from your water/sewer payments. Village Taxes are not used to support this fund.
Community Development – is the budget based on anticipated funding from HUD for some projects in income-eligible areas and to provide assistance to income eligible residents for home repairs.
Debt Schedule – details the repayment of principal and interest for borrowings. Borrowings are needed to pay for major projects and equipment purchases that fall outside of the budget.
The Village of Kenmore Fiscal Year runs from June 1st – May 31st.
